■ Product Details
The Kaname Kiritsuke 6.5 inch (195mm) offers ample blade length and blade width, proving its true worth not only in everyday use but also in elaborate cooking.
Even delicate ingredients that crumble easily, such as sashimi and roast beef, can be finished beautifully right down to the cut surface.

What is Sekimagoroku (Seki-Mago-Roku)?
The origin of Seki-Kaji (Seki forging) dates back to the Kamakura period, when swordsmiths moved from Kyushu to what is now Seki City, Gifu Prefecture (Mino) and began making swords in this region blessed with high-quality clay, water and charcoal. Many renowned swords were created there, and the master craftsman "Seki no Magoroku" (Seki-no-Magoroku) devised a unique sword-making method, producing supreme masterpieces of outstanding sharpness with great beauty and artistry. As the eras changed from Edo to Meiji, many of Seki's swordsmiths shifted to manufacturing household cutlery. The conviction behind the praise given to Seki swords—"they do not break, do not bend, and cut exceptionally well"—is firmly carried on in today's blade making. The "Sekimagoroku" series name comes from the 27th-generation Kanemoto, swordsmith Mr. Magoroku Kaneko, bringing that sharpness into the modern age while keeping the master's skills alive.

*Not suitable for use in a dishwasher or dish dryer.

[Knife Care] After use, apply a neutral detergent to a sponge, remove any soiling, rinse, wipe off moisture thoroughly with a dry cloth, and store in a place with low humidity.

[Knife Re-sharpening] No matter how fine a blade is, it will gradually deteriorate unless proper maintenance is carried out at the right time. When a fully ripe tomato gets crushed instead of sliced, or chicken slips and cannot be cut cleanly, it is a sign that re-sharpening is needed.
So that you can use your KAI knife with confidence for many years, a re-sharpening service by KAI professionals (chargeable) is also available—please contact our store. (Products from other manufacturers cannot be accepted.)
