Kai Corporation Seki Magoroku Damascus Gyuto 180mm Stainless Clad Composite

Damascus
It resembles a quiet blade pattern, yet it also embodies unwavering growth rings.
The magnificent Damascus pattern reminiscent of a Japanese sword is the crystallization of a technique that layers 32 different layers.
The handle adopts a robust structure that does not use rivets.
This is the premium series "Seki Magoroku," which embodies the pride of swordsmiths.

About Seki Magoroku (Seki-Mago-Roku)
During the Kamakura period, a swordsmith who moved from Kyushu to the current Gifu Prefecture, Seki City (Mino)began sword making in this region blessed with high-quality soil, water, and charcoal, which is the origin of Seki Kaji (Seki-Kaji). Many famous swords were born, but the master craftsman Seki no Magoroku (Seki-no-Magoroku)devised unique sword-making techniques, producing beautifully artistic and exceptionally sharp top-quality works. As the era transitioned from Edo to Meiji, many of Seki's swordsmiths shifted to manufacturing household knives. The belief that Seki swords are "unbreakable, unbendable, and cut well" has been firmly passed down to modern knife making. The name of the "Seki Magoroku" series is attributed to the 27th generation Kanemoto, swordsmith Masoroku Kaneko, who conveys the sharpness of the craft to the present day.

★ A high-end line designed in Japan that meets the needs of professionals!! The surface of the blade features a beautiful Damascus pattern reminiscent of Japanese swords, and the handle has a reverse triangle shape that fits comfortably in the hand. We pursued functional beauty in sharpness, usability, and design.
★ The "authentic sharpening" finish with a focus on detail adopts newly developed techniques for "skimming" and "sharpening," achieving a sharp cutting edge. By welding the one-piece stainless steel mouth to the blade, moisture and rust intrusion is completely shut out.
★ The "laminated reinforced wood handle" offers a high level of fit, using a material that has been specially processed from natural wood. It is a handle that retains the texture of wood while being strong and resistant to water and humidity.
※ This knife is suitable for both right-handed and left-handed users. Left-handed individuals can also use it.
※ Dishwasher use is not recommended.

■Pattern (Handle)
A highly fitting, laminated reinforced wood handle. The reverse triangle shape and shaft structure without rivets provide excellent strength and water resistance, while also pursuing design quality.
Ferrule
The ferrule that connects the blade and handle is welded and polished to create a joint that resists moisture and dirt accumulation.
Blade
The "Damascus pattern" created by layering different stainless steels in 32 layers. In addition to excellent sharpness, it achieves durability and ease of sharpening.
Sharpening
It is possible to sharpen with very fine whetstones, achieving delicate sharpness. It can also avoid hardness drop due to heat, allowing sharpening while maintaining high hardness.

【Knife Maintenance】After use, apply neutral detergent to a sponge, clean off dirt, rinse, and thoroughly wipe off moisture with a dry cloth, then store in a place with low humidity.

【Knife Resharpening】No matter how good a blade is, if proper maintenance is not performed at the right time, it will gradually deteriorate. Signs that resharpening is needed include squished tomatoes when cut or slipping chicken that does not cut well.
To ensure you can use Kai's knives safely for a long time, we also offer a resharpening service by Kai professionals (for a fee), so please contact our store. (Products from other companies are not supported)
