Foam Earplug Fitting Instructions (Correct Installation)
Procedure for Fitting Foam Earplugs
Step 1
Roll and compress with clean hands
Hold the earplug between your thumb and index finger as shown in the figure
Roll and gradually compress the tapered end of the earplug
to form a small, wrinkle-free cylinder
Step 2
Insert the plug and ensure a secure fit
Reach over your head and gently pull your ear upward and outward as shown in the figure
Insert the compressed tapered end of the plug
deep into the ear canal
Hold it in place for 30 to 60 seconds until the earplug expands
Release and then push it in again
Push it in for 5 seconds to ensure a good fit
Step 3
When properly fitted, the lower end of the plug
is positioned at the opening of the ear canal
Step 4
If part of the earplug does not fit properly into the ear canal
the effectiveness will be reduced
Step 5
Now, perform a user fit check
Wear the earplugs in a noisy environment
and cover both ears with the cups using both hands and release
If the earplugs are properly fitted
you should not notice a significant difference in sound attenuation
which is good
On the other hand, if a proper fit is not achieved
move to a quiet place and repeat this fitting procedure
Step 6
For removing the earplugs
remove the earplugs slowly
Gradually break the seal by gently twisting
Removing them abruptly may damage the eardrum
