Foam Earplug Fitting Instructions
How to put on foam earplugs
Step 1
Roll and compress with clean hands. Hold the earplug between your thumb and index finger as shown. Roll the entire tapered end of the earplug, gradually compressing it into a small, wrinkle-free cylinder.
Step 2
Insert the plug to ensure a secure fit Reach your hand over your head and gently pull your ear upwards and outwards as shown Insert the compressed tapered end of the plug firmly into the back of your ear canal Hold for 30-60 seconds until the earplug expands Release and reinsert Press for 5 seconds to ensure a snug fit
Step 3
When properly fitted, the bottom of the plug should be positioned at the opening of your ear canal.
Step 4
If the earplug does not fit properly in the ear canal, it will be less effective.
Step 5
Now we do a fit check on the user. In a noisy environment, put on the earplugs and place the cups over your ears with both hands and release them. If the earplugs are fitted properly, you should not notice a significant difference in sound attenuation and that's good. However, if you don't get a proper fit, move to a quieter area and repeat this fitting procedure.
Step 6
When removing earplugs, remove them slowly. Use a gentle twisting motion to gradually release the seal. Sudden removal can damage the eardrum.
